Product Description

Radio Flyer wagons have sure come a long way since 1923, when the company's first simple wood wagon went on sale. The Ultimate Family Wagon is a roomy luxury vehicle with five different seating configurations, a separate storage area, safety belts, and an activity table -- just to name a few of its features. It also comes with a UV sun protection canopy, as well as an abundance of cup holders (two for the kids; two for the adults). Flip-up seats make for a comfortable ride for kids, but can also be folded flat to haul stuff around. This wagon is big, so if you want a wagon you can take with you on family trips, check the measurements to make sure the Ultimate Family Wagon will fit in your car.

What We Think

Fun factor:
Durability:
Ease of assembly:
Educational factor:
Novelty factor:

The Good: Safety belts, five possible seating configurations, and cup holders for both kids and adults.

The Challenging: Restless children might be able to escape from the lap safety belts, and the wagon could be too big to fit in compact cars.

In a Nutshell: A roomy luxury wagon that protects against sun and rain, and offers lots of storage.

Built to Last and Made to Enjoy
Made of durable plastic with rubber wheels, the Ultimate Family Wagon is built to last. At first, you might feel nostalgic for the old metal or wood wagons, but you'll quickly get used to the great features of this contemporary wagon. There is a hole in the bottom that lets water drain out, so you don't have to worry if it sits out in the rain.

Assembly is fairly easy, although the instructions don't feature much text, mainly illustrations. We wished, too, that the children's cup holders were placed somewhere other than at their feet, where little cups could easily get knocked over. Still, your kids will enjoy riding in this big, comfortable, and versatile wagon, which also features a fold-over handle for easier storage.

Safety Features Make It a Standout
The roominess and safety features of the Ultimate Family Wagon really make it a standout. Though built to accommodate two passengers, a child who rides solo in this red and white wagon gets plenty of extra room, and can also use the activity surface for coloring or playing. Parents will enjoy the extra storage in the back. The sun canopy is another fine feature.

Seat belts, too, are an excellent innovation, although children might be able to get free of the simple lap belt if they are too restless. The sturdy rubber tires roll smoothly, and thanks to the front axle with no-tip turning, give kids a safe ride. This premier wagon can be difficult to maneuver in small spaces, but if comfort and roominess are top priorities for you, the Ulimate Family Wagon is an ideal choice.

I probably, okay i DID, go overboard on buying such a monster huge wagon. On second thought I'd have bought a Radio Flyer Pathfinder with the cute door that opens and closes. I chose this because well you can never have too much space and because the pathfinder DIDN'T have safety belts. Stupid, idealistic me ignored the fact that my son can escape from ANY belt or strap made by humans. I can't fit in my empty Honda Accord trunk. We only take it when we take my husband's Nissan Pathfinder. It's huge but like a HUMVEE Limo for my son. Radio Flyer puts "drain" holes in the bottom so you can leave it out. I joke that if I could plug up the holes, I'd fill the main area up with water and let my son splash in his limo jacuzzi when we take walks around the neighborhood and my 9 year old nephew loves to come over and use it as a "bobsled" down the hill in my big backyard (big as a football field). It can easily be pulled by my 20 month old son (engineering and parts are fantastic) and when we go to the theme park (weekly basis since we have season passes), my son and his 9 year old cousin love to sit in there and be pulled. The canopy is a godsend for sunny sunny SUNNY florida. It can haul anything. We fold the seats down and sneak in bottles of water since it's [..] at the theme park and carry all of my son's diapers, towels, and clothing changes for the water park. Other than that, it mostly stays at home for walks. Make sure to have a good place to store this. No space in our garage and since I like to keep it bug free and clean, it stays hidden under our dining table.
Great wagon!

This is a great wagon. My daughter is only 9 months but is sitting up very well. I love the fact that this wagon has seatbelts and a canopy. But be warned that the seatbelts are simple lapbelts, not the 5-point buckles usually in carseats.

Assembling the wagon was very easy; all you need is a hammer. It is very sturdy, steers easily and has lots of room inside. The quality is top notch.

I highly recommend this wagon.
Great wagon!

We wanted light weight, durable for camping or parades, big enough for a 3 and a 4 year old. This had it all! The canopy is adorable. The kids love it!
Fantastic addition....

Radio Flyer is a great tool, espeically for twins. Our twins enjoy it very much. Assembly is easy, but you need to be careful about the washer (which are two different sizes, an inch, and 1 1/2 inch. If you interchange, you need to struggle with wirecutter forever (of course, aftering getting the spares from customer service folks). Just take couple of minutes to review before you hammer it!
Lose the double stroller!!

I LOVE this wagon! My mom purchased it for my 2 sons because my 2 year old hates the double stroller. They love this wagon! My youngest just turned 1 and I don't even have a problem with him trying to climb out while we're moving. They love sitting like big boys and looking out while we walk. The lap belts are very helpful just in case. There is a little storage compartment behind the back seat which is great for my things. My only (very small) gripe is that the sippy cup holders for the kids are down inside the wagon at their feet. It's easy for them to reach, but they get knocked over and roll around the bottom. Some of the other models have the kids cup holder up on the side. I think I would like that better, but it may be in the way there also...I don't know. It's not that big of a deal. My favorite feature is the canopy. It installs very quickly and since we live in Texas, I use it constantly. The handle folds flat for easy storage. The wagon is a pretty good size, but it fits fine in the back of my Jeep Cherokee if we take it with us somewhere (which we do constantly). I don't know how well it would fit in the back of a car trunk. The wheels are real rubber too so it seems to have a smoother ride than the one with plastic wheels. I can't think of a better alternative for a double stroller. My boys just love it!
Loads of Fun for the Children and Parents!

When I bought this product, I didn't know if we'd use it alot. Well, I was wrong. Forget the stroller on casual walks in the neighborhood or on the boardwalk! Kids love riding this wagon and the ease of use really helps! Its very easy to assemble, the item is lightweight, and the steering is easy. I love the safety belts to keep them safe. The wheels are easy to maneuver as well. There's even a spot for me to put my soda or coffee! How nice! A definite buy! I wish they'd make a bigger one to hold 3 childen.
Love this wagon

We purchased this wagon for our daughter to celebrate her first birthday and she loves!! We spent the entire day Sunday pulling her up and down our driveway and she was singing, smiling and waving the entire time. We have used it every day this week; in the yard, at the park, at a friend's house. It is sooo cute and really versatile. Plus it was super easy to put together, which my hubby liked! In fact, he said it was the easiest "baby" item he has assembled. :-) It is a bit pricier than some wagons, but definitely worth it (esp if you get it here with the free shipping deal) We paid a total of 129.99 and found this exact wagon for sale several other places from 149.99 up to 179.99 PLUS shipping! Buy this one, you won't be sorry!
Great Product----I truly love it!!!

I was looking into a wagon for my two kids. I knew that I would purchase a Radio Flyer, I just didn't know exactly which one. After comparing a few I decided on the Ultimate Family Wagon because of it's versitility as well as durability. Amazon offered the best deal on the market with it's free shipping!!! I am extremely pleased and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking to buy a wagon.

Great wagon. Very versatile. Easy to store and transport. Has everything you need to take your child to the zoo, picnicking or any other activity that allows them to be in the fresh air while still safely mobile. Also, canopy is easy to install and provides great sun shade on hot days. Holds a lot, too.
