I bought this for a (4) year old who loves to bake. It is not always convenient for an adult to accomodate her,(as she calls it) “baking needs”, but this keeps her very happy until the real baking can happen. All of the pieces are very smooth and colorful. The set comes with a dozen cookies in a tube, 18 toppings, a knife, spatula, cookie sheet and oven mitt. The cookies can be “sliced” with the knife and then decorated with the toppings. Velcro makes it all happen, so there are no toppings falling off the cookies. She loves the fact that she is “baking by herself”, and serves cookies to everyone. Wood toys were never so classy!

I’ve never had this problem with a Melissa and Doug toy before, but when I opened this up, I could smell awful chemical fumes. A week later, I can still smell the fumes on the paint of the cookies and in the can. I’m sending this toy back. Yuck.

This is a great toy. The velcro on the cookies makes it really feel like you are cutting the cookies, and then you can put them all on the tray and put on the frosting. My 2 year old son really enjoys playing with it. Great Toy!

I purchased Melissa & Doug’s Slice and Bake Cookie Set for one little girl in our circle. She loved it so much, that I bought another one for her cousin, who is only a few months younger. They have a blast with this toy. It’s one of their favorites, and they use it over and over again.
I’ve never purchased anything from Melissa & Doug that scored anything but top ratings. Their designs are very creative, and it’s all very well made.
