I didn’t see the movie, but I thought it would be cool to have a Marlon Wayans action figure that doubled as a figure of a soldier in a hi-tech suit. The toy is pretty cool.
The figure has articulation in the ankles, knees, hips, abdomen, shoulders, elbows, wrists, and head. It is very posable.
Ripcord comes with a rifle, a rocket launcher (with real firing missile), a removable helmet, and a nice base to stand on. The helmet is hinged to open like a knight’s helmet, but every time I open it while the figure is wearing it the hinge undoes itself.
I had one G.I. Joe figure when I was younger and this figure has the same way of connecting the legs to the hip with some sort of metal rod. It’s a little peculiar when so many action figures use ball & socket-type joints at the hips, but maybe it’s a traditional G.I. Joe thing. The range of movement is similar.
The gun may be a choking hazard to little kids and the rocket launcher fires a spring-loaded missile. And, as I said, the helmet has a tendency to break apart.
The figure is made of a harder, more brittle plastic than other popular action figures, but it should be able to survive normal playtime action.
The armor looks really cool. Very detailed. Ripcord looks ready for action and adventure. This toy should be a lot of fun, particularly to those who’ve seen the movie and know more about the characters.
